Sightless Seeing #5: Rehearsing the Archive is a preparation for the performative tour Sightless Seeing #5: The Tin Collection. It is a practice in progress which would have been performed live during the opening of the process exhibition The spread of a crack is halted by a hole. The cancellation of the opening and the public rehearsal provoked this new video by Sarah van Lamsweerde, which is now part of the collective Sightless Seeing Project. In cooperation with Leroy de Böck, camera and editing by Alina Ozerova.

The main objective of our symposium is to explore how (artistic) practices coalesce with cultural heritage. The main feature of our symposium is interconnection and cooperation: "to allow for various practices from the cultural domain to touch each other and to move from their own fields of interests."

She uses the built environment as a supporting structure that gives space to the construction of meaning and to the perception of meaning.

Emptiness and Infinite Space is a series of symposia by Filosofen Oost West and Arti et Amicitiae. The main theme of the series is the concept of emptiness and the position it occupies in Eastern and Western art and philosophy. The separate symposia are projects in itself, with their own distinct concept. The series is organised and initiated by Rosa Johanna, Jan Bor, Marjoca de Greef, Anastasija Pandilovska and Babeth VanLoo and will lead to an exhibition in 2020.

During the Tallinn Photomonth, Suns and Stars presents a first version of ‘Als je terugkomt woon ik aan het water’ (When you return, Ill be living by the waterside), a visual love story by Petra Noordkamp in and concerning the neighborhood EVA-Lanxmeer.

Suns and Stars organises with artist Emmeline de Mooij and curator Marjoca de Greef, restorative workshops / performances on repair and maintenance techniques, titled 'Huishoudschool' (Domestic Labor School), during 'the contemporary health resort' Cure Park in Amsterdamse Bos.

Suns and Stars presents NATURA*, an ongoing project by Floris Schönfeld, during Poppostions’ 6th edition at the ING Art Center in Brussels.

The perception of oneness from many is the basis of the term Gestalt; the whole has a reality of its own. In psychology, Gestalt is about connecting. It puts emphasis on gaining awareness of the present moment. The sculptures in this show are open for communication and the historic garden of Kasteel Nederhorst offers peace and quiet, an essential condition for an actual connection. With Gerbrand Burger, Maartje Folkeringa, Paulien Föllings and Hanae Wilke.

Spring 2016, we are guests of Jan en Netty Vink; the owners of the Rietveld Cordemeyer Huis in Apeldoorn. Artists Rūta Butkutė, Remy Jungerman, Babette Kleijn, Sachi Miyachi and curator Marjoca de Greef explore the house, meet the owners and reflect on the fundamental principles upon which the house was built.

In Spring 2015 we stayed at the historic country house Jagtlust. The house, the garden and the former inhabitants are imbued with the Romantic principles. The ideological values of the present owner, Natuurmonumenten, are also derived from Romanticism. The title of the exhibition refers to M.H. Abrams’ book about Romantic Theory and the Critical Tradition. “Until the Romantic era, the mind was like a mirror, reflecting the real world. For the Romantics it was more like a lamp, the light of the artist’s inner soul poured out to illuminate the world”. Here lies the origin of the conflict caused by Romantic notions of authenticity and artistic genius.

We were invited to stay at the Dresselhuyspaviljoen on the Estate Zonnestraal, in the middle of the forest. This beautiful complex hosted ‘The Daylight Show’, 24 artists immersed themselves in the powerful presence of the building and they each took over one of the 24 identical rooms.

A successful pilot, Gasten van de familie Bolink (Guests of the family Bolink), a group exhibition in a villa in Hilversum, proved to be the overture for Suns and Stars. With Richtje Reinsma, Marisa Rappard, Maartje Folkeringa, Roosmarijn Schoonewelle, Ellen Mandemaker, Rozemarijn Westerink, Caro Bensca, Merijn Bolink, Tim Breukers, Ionika Aalders, Pieter Jan Kerstens and Paul de Reus.
